Kerrytown Bookfest

Despite the downright chilly, soggy weather on Sunday, Rob and I braved the elements to spend the day in Ann Arbor promoting The Healer of Guildenwood and celebrating the upcoming release of The Secret of the Hold. Thanks to everyone who came out to peruse all the bookfest’s offerings and especially to those who took the time to stop by my booth and express interest in The Soultrekker Chronicles. Meeting so many nice people who love to read made me forget about the cold, misty conditions. Then again, talking about my trilogy is one of my favorite things to do!

Trying to keep dry at the Kerrytown Bookfest

Again, I am very excited about the upcoming release of The Secret of the Hold, which will continue the story of Arwyn’s adventure in Bensor. I am working with a different publisher this time around and will soon unveil my book cover and a whole new look to my website. Change is good! And for all those new supporters who expressed interest in my books, I’m glad to have you along for the ride! As always, I welcome your feedback and would love to know what you think about Healer. And if you would like a free sneak peak of The Secret of the Hold, sign up for my email list under the “Newsletter” section of this website or let me know in the Comments section below.

The Wait is Almost Over: The Secret of the Hold is on the Way! (And a FREE give-away!)

For those of you who have been asking me for months about the next installment of The Soultrekker Chronicles, fear not! The answers to (some of) your burning questions are right around the corner: Will Arwyn’s journey to the elven realm be fraught with danger? Is she truly an elf or is she mortal? What will become of the rebellion? Will Arwyn’s crimes finally catch up to her? Will there finally be sparks between her and Galamir? What other surprises are in store?

The final edit is complete and I’ve spent the past few weeks researching publishing options, a search that has led me to an option I am very excited about! It has also led me to an incredible cover designer, whose mock-ups of Books Two and Three are amazing. I can’t wait to see the finished product and to share it with you, my readers!

I’m also looking forward to sharing with you the continuing story of Arwyn’s adventures in Bensor. Some of my favorite and most complex characters in the series are introduced in The Secret of the Hold, and I can’t wait for you to meet them and be intrigued by the secrets hiding beneath their outward facades.

The Secret of the Hold should be released this fall. In the meantime, I am giving away a FREE preview to anyone who writes or has written a review of my first book, The Healer of Guildenwood, on Amazon or Goodreads. Simply message me here on my website (click on “Contact” and fill out the requested information) or on my author Facebook page, Mary E. Calvert, along with your email address, and I will be happy to send that along!

Finally, I have a few events coming up that I’d like to share with you. I will be signing The Healer of Guildenwood at the Kerrytown Bookfest in Ann Arbor on Sunday, September 9th and would love for you to drop by if you are in the area. Also, I am working on dates in the fall to travel to Atlanta for a couple book signings there. I will keep you posted!

Good News for ‘Soultrekker’ Fans!

No, I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth.

I have been on an unexpected hiatus, waiting for my editor to do the final edit of The Soultrekker Chronicles’ Book Two. Unfortunately, her health issues and other challenges have significantly slowed her progress, putting the brakes on my plans for a 2017 release. I do apologize to all of you who have inquired about the next installment of Arwyn’s tale.

The good news is that the first fully edited chapters are ready for the printing press, and they’re good! I’m so excited to introduce my readers to several fun, complex, intriguing new characters.  My next book is expected to be available to you in the summer of 2018.  I will keep you updated.

During this hiatus, I’ve busied myself with other projects, namely trying to get caught up on my long-neglected scrapbooking projects, my other creative passion. Perhaps I’ll share some of my creations with you at a later date.

Also, since you last heard from me, my technology-guru husband added a subscription sign-up here on my website so that you can more readily receive my newsletters, including news about Book Two’s release.  I would love it if everyone who reads this post would click on “Newsletter” RIGHT NOW and sign up!

So, for those of you chomping at the bit to know what will happen on Arwyn’s journey to the elven realm, whether or not there will be any sparks between her and Galamir, and what will befall the Alliance and its rebellion, bear with me a little longer.  It’ll be worth the wait!
